Other Projects/Internships

Today, I began my summer internship at Netmarble.

I always wanted to be a game developer, and taught myself how to use UE4, Unity, and more, after I finished learning C# on my own. Thus, I decided to apply for an internship at a company that wrote games, to learn more about how the process worked.

So far, the first day, I was getting an orientation about the team I would be interning for, the developer team of the baseball game "마구마구". The game was designed for South Korean markets, and did not do too well outside of the country. However, it was one of the top games Netmarble had, and was an amazing chance. The game had been out for years and years, but received an update every Wednesday. Thus, I would be able to see the update process, help out with the code, and overall management.

I had some funny stories too. The first day, I tried using my own laptop(Macbook Pro) to participate in the activities, but turns out, it had a virus like program that I was using to control my packets. The company security thought it was a data leak, and after thoroughly testing the wifi settings, I was given a company laptop to use. That was very nerve wracking.

That was the card they gave me to access their facilities. Unfortunately, they couldn't make an intern card for me, so they let me use the family card. That was the overall summary of my first day at Netmarble.
